Dr. Whitney Kapelka has had a strong passion for animals from a young age, although she initially had her sights set on human medicine.
During her sophomore year of college, she began working as a kennel technician at an animal hospital. She fell in love with the field and never looked back! Dr. Kapelka earned her B.S. in Biology at the University of Central Florida, and then moved to Knoxville for veterinary school at the University of Tennessee. She ultimately headed back home to North Florida to plant her roots and begin practicing medicine.
Dr. Kapelka has special interests in dermatology, internal medicine, and preventive care, but she loves the wide variety of cases she gets to see on a daily basis. In her free time, Dr. Kapelka enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, boating, being outdoors, and traveling. She adores her two Shiba Inus, Rocky and Briar, and her charismatic cat, Remi.
